About Us

At UTA MAPS, we are more than just a pre-med organization — we are a community dedicated to empowering underrepresented students on their journey toward careers in medicine and healthcare. Our mission is to bridge the gap in health disparities through education, service, and mentorship, while fostering a network of culturally competent future physicians who are committed to making a difference. Together, we inspire growth, celebrate diversity, and create meaningful change.

GBMs

Our General Body Meetings (GBM) are a chance to meet new people, learn from guest speakers, and stay updated on everything happening in the pre-med org. We invite medical professionals, admissions officers, and others to share helpful advice on topics like med school applications and career paths in healthcare. It’s a great place to get informed and make connections. And as always we provide free food.

Professional Development

Our PD events are designed to help you grow as a future healthcare professional. We offer workshops, networking opportunities, and guest speakers who provide tips on everything from acing your med school application to succeeding in interviews.

Volunteer

Our volunteer events are a chance to get hands-on experience while giving back to the community. These events provide exposure to real-world healthcare needs, allowing you to make an impact while learning more about the challenges in healthcare and underserved communities. It’s all about gaining valuable experience while contributing to causes that matter.

Socials

Our Socials are a fun way to take a break from school, relax, and meet fellow MAPS members. These events are all about hanging out, building connections, and enjoying a chill environment to unwind and get to know each other better.

Fundraisers

We hold Fundraisers to raise money for MAPS programs and events, which support underrepresented students on their journey to medical school. These events help fund resources like medical prep materials, mentorship, and community outreach projects. By participating, you’re helping to make a real impact on the future of diverse healthcare professionals.
